Sharing is caring!

July 18, 2021

Beautiful Beloveds,

I have been meaning to ask…where does it hurt?  This week, our worship series moves to deeper connection as we acknowledge we all hurt sometimes.  Certainly, the last year has made that painfully apparent.  In times of grief, sickness, or suffering, our bodies ache, our hearts hurt, our souls suffer.

One of the things that has been particularly painful in the last year was our inability to gather safely in our sanctuary.  As we look ahead to August, our leadership team is hopeful to open our sanctuary for worship beginning August 1.  There is more information below on our safety protocols and practices and new schedule beginning in August.

As we continue to move forward, adapting, and adjusting to life in pandemic, may we continue to practice gentle compassion with ourselves and one another.  In the best life has to offer, as well as the darkest days, we walk alongside one another.  In the midst of life’s joys, frustrations, celebrations, disappointments, in times of both grief and gratitude, we remain Together in Christ…Committed to Serve

Heather

An Update from our COVID-19 Leadership Task Force

We are planning to re-enter our sanctuary August 1.

Masks are optional.  Please honor the choices that others have made to mask or not.

Please continue to practice risk-reducing distancing, staying about 6 feet apart.

We will have one or two singers, but not congregational singing at this time.

In case of rain, we will move our worship into the sanctuary, and follow the guidelines below.

Refresh and Re-connection Time:

Stick around after our outdoor worship or come early before our indoor gathering.

Masks are optional.  Please honor the choices that others have made to mask or not.

Please continue to practice risk-reducing distancing, staying about 6 feet apart.

In Our Sanctuary

Please register online here, leave a message at the church 508.428.2811 or text Pastor Heather, 774.994.3645.

Please wear a mask.  If you forget, we will have plenty available to share.

Sanctuary Shepherds will be there to greet and guide you, as you enter and exit our building.

Please enter through the main sanctuary doors, where you will be “checked-in,” and invited to use hand sanitizer.  You can also grab a mask if you need one and pick up a Bible if you choose.  At this time we will not be using hymnals or paper bulletins.

After you are “checked in” you will be led to a seat by a sanctuary shepherd.  We will be seating individuals and families six feet apart from one another from the front of the sanctuary to the back.

We will have one or two singers, but not congregational singing at this time.  Please exit through our solarium as directed by our shepherds.  An offering plate will be available as you enter, as we will not be “passing the plate.”  Do not worry if you forget, or are moved to give more, there will be another place to give on your way out. At this time, we will not be using our air conditioners, only fans, as we work to reduce the risk of transmitting COVID-19.

**Our COVID-19 Leadership Task Force is watching the current rise of COVID-19 on Cape Cod.  Our current plan is to re-enter our sanctuary on August 1.  If the rates continue to rise, we may need to change or adapt our plan.  If so, we will communicate any changes as quickly, clearly as possible.
