Heifer LLama Collection During Lent This week the Sunday school children begin our Lenten collection for Heifer Project International. Last year we raised money to buy a sheep. This year the children chose to try to fund the purchase of a llama. They are designing suncatchers to give to the congregational members who donate. There is a collection box and display along with the suncatchers designed by our children on the table in the solarium. If you have spare change, we appreciate your help. And enjoy your suncatcher as spring sun arrives on Cape Cod. Thanks!
A New Ministry Collaborating with the Cape Cod Council of Churches’ Covenant to Care for Foster Families! Our church, in collaboration with the Cape Cod Council of Churches’ Covenant to Care for Foster Families program, has initiated a partnership. Four dedicated church members—Patty Morell, Sharlene Moran, Maureen Sullivan, and Heather Wolfe—have undergone training by the program director and completed CORI checks. We have been matched with a foster mother residing in the Town of Barnstable. She is caring for six children, ages ranging from 15 months to 14 years. Upon meeting with her, she has expressed a need for assistance with childcare for two hours, one day a week. Patty, Sharlene, and Heather have visited the home and are rotating weekly to spend quality time with the delightful toddler. The foster mother is a compassionate individual with boundless energy and patience. Should she require any tangible support such as bicycle repairs, clothing, etc., we encourage our congregation to join us in meeting her needs. We are immensely excited about undertaking this ministry, which will make a difference in the lives of some of Cape Cod’s most vulnerable children. Please keep us in your prayers and seek God’s blessings as we extend a helping hand to this family. If you wish to join our team, feel free to approach any of us at any time.
