Saturday Tidings

Sharing is caring!

Beautiful Beloveds,

We continue our exploration and pondering of Beauty, even and especially in times like this.  As we’ve moved through the last three months (or is it years) so many of you have mentioned how meaningful it has been to garden, to walk the beach, to be in nature.  As Dr. Farley reminds us, “The resilience and beauty of the natural world is a sign of hope, even when things are difficult.” It can be balm for the soul, to stop, and notice, in the midst of so much suffering and anxiety.

To stop and notice can be spiritual practice.  To revel in God’s handiwork, to notice the way an ant moves, or a tree sways in the wind, or the way clouds move can move from curiosity, to wonder, to awe, and praise.  You’ll hear an example of that in our text this week, read by Tyler Allen, Psalm 147.  To stop, to notice, to revel, to praise can nurture our hearts and spirits.  And that nurture, can fuel our work for justice, for the good of our neighbor and world.   I’ll “see” you on Sunday, from my screen to yours.

PS.  Parents, this week the seek and find item is something chipped or broken.  Also, click HERE for  a coloring page is a resource for children of all ages.  It’s related to Sunday’s worship and invites coloring, and journaling for older, including adult, children.

PPS.  The picture, sunset in Vegas, was shared by John Hicinbotham.  Please consider sharing your pictures of beauty on our church facebook page, or email them to me directly so I can share them.
