Hurricane Dorian Humanitarian Efforts Hurricane Dorian’s hit to the Bahamas has been severe. As the humanitarian relief and development arm of The United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR)  has awarded a solidarity grant to Bahamas Methodist Habitat, the Disaster Ministry of the Bahamas Conference of the Methodist Church. This grant provides immediate, short term funding to address basic human needs of those affected.  As Dorian nears the southeast U.S., UMCOR has been monitoring the situation and are in close contact with Conference Disaster Response Coordinators in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. They are well-equipped and prepared to respond to the storms.  A solidarity grant has been awarded to the Florida Annual Conference to under-gird initial response efforts.  You can help, too, by continuing to pray for those in the path of Hurricane Dorian and by making a donation to response efforts. Write checks to the church, memo:  Hurricane Relief, (please specify international or US) or give through our website.

Worship Notes

Would you like to read scripture for worship one Sunday.  Whether a seasoned lay reader or just curious about sharing in Sunday morning worship, we hope you'll consider being a lay reader.  Time committment depends ont he number of volunteers, however the rotation is usually one Sunday every other month or so.  We work around your schedule and always have a back-up plan if you are unable to make it work.  If you are interested reach out to Carol Eichner after church or call/email Pastor Heather at pastorheather@umchurches.org / 508-737-9665.
